Italian Spaghetti with Meat Sauce |

1 (16-ounce) package uncooked spaghetti
1 pound extra-lean ground beef
1 cup chopped onions
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1/2 cup chopped green bell peppers
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 (6-ounce) cans tomato paste
1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
2 cups water
3 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
3 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon pepper
3/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, if desired
1. Cook spaghetti to desired doneness as directed on package. Drain; cover to keep warm.
2. Meanwhile, spray large skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Heat over medium heat until hot. Add ground beef, onions, mushrooms, bell pepper and garlic; cook 8 to 10 minutes or until beef is thoroughly cooked, stirring frequently. Drain well.
3. Stir in tomato paste and tomato sauce; mix well. Gradually stir in water. Stir in parsley, Italian seasoning, basil, sugar, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4. Serve sauce over spaghetti; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
