Lean ground turkey and old-fashioned oats help cut the fat but keep the moistness in this tasty version of a family favorite.
3/4 pound extra-lean ground beef
3/4 pound ground turkey breast
1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup tomatoes puree
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 small onion, chopped (1/4 cup)
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
Heat oven to 350°. Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Press mixture evenly in ungreased loaf pan, 8 1/2x4 1/2x2 1/2 or 9x5x3 inches. Bake uncovered 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours or until no longer pink in center and juice is clear.
