I grew up on a farm in a remote area in southern Idaho. My responsibilities included cooking for five adults, very burly men, as well as for my little brother and sister. My mother gave me a gift that became a fundamental companion to me for the next several years: Betty Crocker's Cookbook for Boys and Girls. The meals were delicious, and I quickly learned to cook with confidence.
I am now forty years old and have two children. I still enjoy cooking and still rely on Betty Crocker's cookbooks and products as much as I did thirty-one years ago. Tuna Chip Casserole is still a favorite family recipe. I still am able to cook nutritious meals with the aid of Betty Crocker's helper meals and other quick-to-prepare products. These products are easy to prepare, and the kids love them.
Along with two children, I have a very challenging full-time job and have been going to college at night for the past eight years. The past four years I have been most involved with United Way, Young Business Professionals of America, numerous civic organizations, and the Christian Children's Ranch. All are very important, but my most rewarding project continues to be the Christian Children's Ranch.
Community service is a more rewarding experience than anything else you will ever do for yourself. It is my mission to let people know that even the smallest deed can change a life.
