Mom is one of the greatest cooks I know. She can turn a fridge full of "nothing" into a delicious curry, pasta dish, or stew. And I can honestly say Betty Crocker was there behind her. My grandparents get a Betty Crocker gift package every Christmas, so we always got the updated cookbook. The early sixties cookbook is the finest cookbook we have ever used. That book is what my mother cooked from, and the one we all learned to cook with. Aside from food, glorious food, Mom is supportive and giving-we have all moved back in for various periods of hard times, and she has helped raise two out of her seven grandchildren. She's extremely intelligent, listens, and even elicits their problems and concerns and comes up with creative answers for them. My mother is a New York City judge. She has sat on the family court and criminal court and now is acting supreme court. Mom's sixty-two now and has slowed down a bit. She was in the forefront of women becoming lawyers and became a judge when it was rare for women to do so. And she never stopped being a very traditional wife and mother. Thanks!
