Ann was cooking by the time she was seven, filling in for her mother who worked long hours in a garment plant. Even at an early age, Ann often delighted the family with her delicious cakes.
Years later, she's still baking. Rarely does a birthday pass without a cake from Ann's kitchen; and she continues to experiment with mixes, flavors, and textures. Mack, Ann's husband of thirty-four years, says his favorite is Ann's "famous brownies"-brownies she cooks using Betty Crocker brownie mix.
But if cooking is Ann's passion, then hard work, community service, and self-improvement is her calling. Despite the fact she's worked full-time with a major bank in North Carolina for thirty years, she's still managed to serve as president of the local chapter of the American Heart Association, continues to be a Lunch Pal for children in an Adopt-A-School program, and is active in a local school's PTA.
Ann believes strongly in education. She tutored her mother-in-law in math and English, thereby helping her to obtain that long-awaited high school diploma.
When she finds a spare minute, Ann enjoys sewing, counted cross-stitch embroidery, photography, travel, and reading cookbooks. On Halloween, Ann passes out treats dressed as Betty Crocker.
