As a bride in 1951, I received my first Betty Crocker cookbook. I still have it, and many other newer Betty Crocker cookbooks. My cooking improved (thanks Betty!) as we had five children and now six grandchildren. Everyone cooked in our family, and it is fun to visit our four married sons and find that they not only prepare meals, but have given me some great recipes. Despite having multiple sclerosis (MS) since 1979, I can still cook anything. It has been necessary to change my kitchen so everything can be done from a sitting position; actually you get a closer look at what you're doing! In 1992 I moved to a one-bedroom condo but refused to get rid of any pots and pans. Since I love to cook and bake I needed them all. My neighbors are wonderful. They "gift" me with things like pecans so I'll make a pie. As a widow living alone, it's fun to share with my neighbors so there is no waste or stale cake or cookies. My favorite Betty Crocker recipe is for chocolate pie. Your new bar mixes are also delicious. Betty Crocker taught me to cook and gave me confidence that if you can read; you can cook.
