Maryland Deviled Crab |

Prep Time: 20 minutes (ready in 40 minutes) - Yield: 4 servings
3 tablespoons margarine or butter
2 tablespoons chopped onions
2 tablespoons shopped green bell peppers
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3/4 cup milk
8 ounces cooked crabmeat, drained, flaked (2 cups)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
2 tablespoons margarine or butter, melted
1. Heat oven to 400°F. Lightly grease 1-quart casserole or 4 individual baking dishes or shells. Melt 3 tablespoons margarine in medium saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and bell pepper; cook and stir until tender. Stir in flour. Gradually add milk. Cook until mixture boils and thickens, stirring constantly.
2. Add all remaining ingredients except bread crumbs and 2 tablespoons margarine; mix well. Spoon into greased casserole. In small bowl, combine bread crumbs and 2 tablespoons margarine. Sprinkle evenly over crab mixture.
3. Bake at 400°F. for 15 to 20 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
