Savory Brown Rice Pilaf |

Print this Recipe
1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice
6 tablespoons unsalted mayonnaise butter, or margarine
1/4 cup chopped onions
1/2 cup chopped celery
2 1/2 ounces fresh sliced mushrooms
1/4 cup sliced water chestnuts
1/4 teaspoon ground sage
1/2 teaspoon basil leaves
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup water
1 cup GRAINFIELDS brown rice
1. Cook rice according to package directions. Melt 2 Tbsp margarine in large skillet. Stir in onion, celery, mushrooms, and water chestnuts. Cook over medium heat stirring occasionally, about 10 minutes or until celery is almost tender. Add remaining 4 Tbsp margarine; stir until melted.
2. Gently stir in cooked rice, Grainfield's Brown Rice, sage, basil leaves, pepper, and water.
Cover and cook over very low heat about 15 minutes. Serve immediately.
