1 cup raw cow peas (dried field peas) or blakc-eyes peas
4 cups water
1 cup uncooked brown rice
4 slices bacon, fried crisp and fat drained
1 medium onion, chopped
Method
1. Boil peas in lightly salted water until tender. Drain peas, reserving 2 cups liquid.
2. Stir together peas, pea liquid, rice, bacon, and onion.
3. Put in rice steamer or double boiler and cok for 1 hour or until rice is done.
