1/2 recipe prepared Quick Fondant in Cookies & Candies
1/3 cup chopped candied cherries
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1 drop red food coloring
Toasted sliced almonds, if desired
1. In medium bowl, combine half recipe of fondant, cherries, almond extract and food color; knead on cookie sheet until well blended.
2. Roll fondant into rope about 1-inch thick. Cut into 1/4-inch slices; place on cookie sheet. Cover with waxed paper; let dry at least 3 hours. Garnish with almond slices. Store in tightly covered container in cool, dry lace.
