Seeds are little kernels of seasoning that you can sprinkle on top of dishes or mix into the food to give flavor,
texture and eye appeal.

Seed and Form Flavor Use
Anise seed (whole) Tastes like black licorice Baked goods, candy, sweetened warm
milk

Caraway seed (whole) Tangy, strongly fragrant and a little Cabbage, cheese, dumplings, meats,
smoky; reminiscent of caraway rye pickling, rye bread, sauerkraut, soups,
bread stews

Cardamom (whole pod, Strongly fragrant with a slight lemony- Coffee, curry, custard, fruits,
seeds, ground) sweet flavor and a touch of pepper and Scandinavian breads, sausages
ginger; reminiscent of Swedish cardamom
