Seasonings are nifty shortcuts for adding lots of flavor to food. They include blends of dry herbs, spices and salt as well as liquid blends such as red pepper sauce, Worcestershire sauce and marinades. Pick them up at the supermarket, or create your own seasoning collection at home.

Seasoning and Form Flavor Use

Apple pie spice (ground blend Sweet and spicy; reminiscent of a Chutneys, fruit pies, fruit sauces,
of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg spice rack pastries
or mace, allspice and ginger)

Barbecue spice (ground blend of chili Savory and spicy; reminiscent of Barbecue sauce, casseroles, cheese,
peppers, cumin, garlic, cloves, paprika, tomato with a bit of a smoky kick eggs, meats
salt and sugar)

Chili powder (ground blend of chili Flavors from mild to hot, Cocktail sauce, cottage cheese, eggs,

Cinnamon-sugar (blend of ground Sweet and fragrant; reminiscent of Baked goods, fruit desserts, toast

as peppercorns, bay leaves, crushed of shrimp with cocktail sauce
