Quick Crescent Pecan Pie Bars |

Serves: 24 Print this RecipeServing Size: 1 bar Albina Flieller - Floresville, Texas Bake-Off® Contest 24, 1973 Grand Prize Winner Judges were so impressed by the way this pecan bar exemplified the "Bake It Easy" theme of the twenty-fourth contest, they awarded it a grand prize. These delicious bars taste just like pecan pie but are much quicker to make. CREST 1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent rolls, dinner rolls FILLING 1/2 cup chopped pecans 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup corn syrup 1 tablespoon margarine or butter, melted 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 egg, beaten Heat oven to 375°F. Unroll dough into 2 long rectangles. Place in ungreased 13 x 9-inch pan; press over bottom and 112 inch up sides to form crust. Firmly press perforations to seal. Bake at 375°F. for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, in medium bowl, combine all filling ingredients. Pour over partially baked crust. Bake an additional 18 to 22 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
