They are sure to be a family favorite. _ cup sugar _ cup firmly packed brown sugar _ cup margarine or butter, softened _ tablespoon molasses _ teaspoons imitation maple flavoring _ eggs _ 3/4 cups all-purpose flour _ teaspoons baking powder _ teaspoon cinnamon ___ teaspoon salt _ cups rolled oats _ cups crispy rice cereal __Kitty Cahill ..........Click the Edit tab and select this entry to learn more about this Bake-Off® Contest Winner. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease cookie sheets. In large bowl, beat sugar, brown sugar and margarine until light and fluffy. Add molasses, maple extract and eggs; blend well. Add flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt; beat at medium speed until well blended. Stir in rolled oats and cereal. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350°F. for 8 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheets. TIP: One cup butterscotch chips can be added with rolled oats and cereal, if desired.
