Chewy, crunchy and chocolaty describe these family-pleasing drop cookies. Because they start with cake mix, you can have homemade cookies in a hurry.


   _ package (1-lb 2.25-oz) pudding-included German chocolate cake mix
   _ cup margarine or butter, softened
   _ eggs
   _ cup coconut
   _ cup chopped walnuts
   _ cup crushed cornflakes cereal or other cereal flakes
   _ cup rolled oats
   _ (6-ounce) package (1 cup) semisweet chocolate chips
   _ to 2 tablespoons sugar

Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, combine cake mix, margarine and eggs; mix well. Add coconut, walnuts, cereal, oats and chocolate chips; mix well. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten with glass dipped in sugar.

Bake at 350°F. for 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Cool 1 minute;: remove from cookie sheets.
