Herb Butter-Basted Chicken |

Prep Time: 1 hour 10 minutes - Yield: 4 servings
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1/2 teaspoon dried sage leaves
1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary leaves, crushed
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
3 to 3 1/2 pounds cut-up or quartered frying chicken, skin removed if desired
1. GRILL DIRECTIONS: Heat grill. In small bowl, combine all ingredients except chicken; mix well.
2. When ready to grill, place chicken, skin side down, on gas grill over low heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals. Cook 45 to 60 minutes or until chicken is fork-tender and juices run clear, turning once and brushing frequently with butter mixture. Discard any remaining butter mixture.
TIP: To bake chicken in oven, place in ungreased 13 x 9-inch (3-quart) baking dish. Bake at 350°F. for 45 to 60 minutes. Transfer to broiler pan; broil 4 to 6 inches from heat for 2 to 4 minutes, brushing twice with butter mixture.
