Replace brown sugar in Date Bars recipe with 2/3 cup thawed apple-juice concentrate and 1/3 cup thawed pineapple-juice concentrate. Heat juices in saucepan until lukewarm. Add butter and stir until melted. Stir in unsweetened applesauce and increase flour to 2 cups. Omit sugar from filling recipe in Date Bars recipe. These date bars offer a fun change for breakfast.
