1. Heat oil in medium nonstick skillet over high heat until hot. Add mushrooms, onion and garlic cook until tender.
2. Add broth bring to a boil. Stir in barley and rice. Reduce heat cover and simmer 10 to 12 minutes or until most of liquid is absorbed, adding broccoli and carrot during last 5 minutes of cooking time.
3. Remove skillet from heat let stand 5 minutes. Fluff mixture with fork before serving.
