Island Kabobs

   1 1-pound 4-ounce can pineapple slices drained and halved (reserve syrup)
   2 pounds ground beef extra-lean
   1/2 pound bulk Italian sausages
   1/3 cup round buttery crackers fine crumbs
   3 tablespoons soy sauce
   1/2 cup onions minced
   1 teaspoon garlic powder
   1 teaspoon cumin ground
   1/2 teaspoon salt
   1/4 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
   2 eggs
   2 green bell peppers large, seeded
   2 red bell peppers large, seeded
   20 mushrooms medium fresh, cleaned and trimmed
   * Part two.
   2 tablespoons honey
   3 tablespoons soy sauce
   3 tablespoons sherry
   2 cloves garlic minced
   3 tablespoons chili sauce tomato-based


Mix together 1/2 reserved pineapple syrup, ground beef, sausage, cracker crumbs, soy sauce, onion, garlic powder, cumin, salt, pepper, and eggs. Form into 60 1 1/2 -inch meat balls. Cut each green and red pepper into 10 chunks each. Thread green and red peppers, mushrooms, meat balls, and pineapple slices onto 10 12- to 14-inch skewers. Prepare the following sauce.

Sauce:
*Blend all ingredients in small saucepan and bring to boil over low heat. Remove from heat and brush over kabobs. Grill over medium coals for 12 minutes; turn and grill another 8 minutes. Brush kabobs with sauce during grilling.
