My wife, Cottie A. Wright, has developed a passion for cooking. However, when I first met Cottie in the early 1970s, cooking was not her greatest strength. Our first Thanksgiving meal resulted in near disaster. The turkey was far from being juicy, and the kitchen nearly burned. With the help of family members and her Betty Crocker cookbook and a genuine desire to learn how to cook, she has become an exceptionally talented cook. I tell her often, "You've come a long way, baby." She spends many hours gazing through her Betty Crocker cookbooks, selecting dishes and planning meals.
Special occasions are especially grand and festive, with family and friends enjoying a variety of great foods. Cottie's great cooking seems to attract them all. Cottie's favorite recipes are from Betty Crocker's Dinner For Two Cookbook. She has tried many of them because they fit into our daily life and busy schedule. Cottie has found them to be very convenient and easy to prepare.
In addition to being a great wife, mother, teacher, and cook, Cottie is also involved in community activities. She is an active member of the marriage and family ministry of our church that emphasizes strong family values. Cottie is a member of the Visionaries, a community service organization with major emphasis on developing leadership potentials in young people and providing greatly needed academic scholarship.
Cottie is a loving wife, devoted mother, and dedicated teacher who strongly upholds family life. We have been married for twenty-two years and are the parents of two sons, Phil, Jr., and Patrick. She is Cottie Ann Wright, my sweetheart.
