Pour macaroni in a 2-quart casserole dish set aside. Melt butter in saucepan whisk in flour, stirring until smooth. Gradually pour in milk add salt, pepper and onion. Stir in 3/4 cup each of American and Cheddar cheeses, stirring until melted pour over macaroni. Mix in sour cream stir until combined. Top with remaining cheeses sprinkle with paprika. Bake at 350 degrees until cheese is golden, about 25 to 30 minutes.
