Chinese Casserole

2 pounds ground beef
1 1/2 cups celery, chopped
1 1/2 cups onions, chopped
2 1/2 cups water (boiling)
1 cup uncooked converted rice
2 (10-ounce) cans chicken and rice soup (2 cans)
2 (4-ounce) cans sliced mushrooms (drained)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
4 teaspoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons butter
3 cups chow mein noodles


1. Cook hamburger, celery, and onion until brown. Drain.
2. In 9X13 ungreased pan, combine rice and boiling water.
3. Stir in remaining ingredients and hamburger mixture with rice. Reserve 1 cup chow mien noodles for top.
4. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes covered with foil.
