Hearty Grain Burgers |

Prep Time: 20 minutes - Yield: 6 sandwiches
1/2 cup cornmeal
1/4 cup uncooked instant rice
1/4 cup quick-cooking rolled oats
1/4 cup uncooked bulgur wheat
1/4 cup uncooked couscous
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup low-fat cottage cheese
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons soy sauce
Nonstick cooking spray
6 hamburger buns, split
1. GRILL DIRECTIONS: Heat grill. In medium bowl, combine cornmeal, rice, oats, bulgur and couscous. Stir in boiling water. Cover; let stand 5 minutes.
2. Add cottage cheese, garlic powder, pepper and soy sauce; mix well. Shape into 6 patties, 1/2 inch thick. Spray both sides of each patty with nonstick cooking spray.
3. When ready to grill, place patties on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals. Cook 6 to 10 minutes or until thoroughly heated, turning once. Serve in buns.
TIP:To cook patties in skillet, place in sprayed large nonstick skillet. Cook 6 to 10 minutes, turning once.
