Easy Breakfast Casserole

8 slices thick bread, such as Texas Toast
2 tablespoons soft butter
1/2 pound pan sausage
6 large eggs
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded


1. Preheat oven 350 degrees F. Spray bottom of a 9x13x2 pan with non stick spray. Butter both sides of bread with soft butter and arrange in the bottom of prepared baking dish.
2. Brown pan sausage, crumbling while stirring. Drain well on a paper towel when done. Sprinkle on top of prepared bread.
3. In med. Mixing bowl, crack and whip 6 eggs adding heavy cream, mix well. Pour over bread and sausage.
4. Sprinkle cheese over top.
5. Cover with foil and place in refrigerator, allow to set 1 hour or over night.
6. Place in Preheated oven and bake 45 min. or until set. Remove and serve.
7. Serving suggestions: Fresh Fruit, Salsa.
