3/4 cup quick-cooking barley
1/4 cup onions, finely chopped
1/4 cup butter or margarine
2 1/2 cups boiling water
1 chicken bouillon cube
1/2 teaspoon salt

Cook barley, onion, and butter over low heat stirring, until golden brown. Stir in water, chicken bouillon cube, and salt. Pour into casserole dish. Bake, uncovered at 350°F for 1 hour, stirring a couple of times.
