Makes about 2 1/2 cups
Keep this ever-useful universal syrup in the refrigerator for sweetening all kinds of bar drinks.
2 cups water
1 cup sugar
In a saucepan, mix the sugar and water. Bring to a slow simmer, stirring, until the sugar is melted, about 3 minutes. Cool. Store in a glass jar, covered, in the refrigerator. It keeps indefinitely.
