Sugar for poaching syrup
_ peaches peeled and halved*
1 quart vanilla ice cream
Melba Sauce (see below)
___ cup whipped cream whipped
___ cup almonds slivered toasted
Poach peaches (see below). Cover and refrigerate.
To serve, place each peach half in an individual serving dish and fill with a scoop of ice cream. Spoon sauce over.
Top each with whipped cream and a tablespoon of almonds.
* Eight canned peach halves may be substituted for poached fresh peaches.
