Mother's Vanilla Ice Cream

2 cups sugar + 6 tablespoons
6 eggs beaten
4 cups milk
3 cups whipped cream
2 cups half and half
2 tablespoons vanilla extract + 1 teaspoon
1/4 teaspoon salt


In a large mixer bowl combine sugar and eggs beat well.

Blend in milk, whipping cream, half-and-half, vanilla and salt. Pour into ice cream freezer container. Pack and freeze according to manufacturer's directions.
