Harvard Beets

Ingredients

1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cider vinegar
2 cloves whole
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 (1-pound) cans beets small whole

Directions:

In saucepan stir sugar, cornstarch, salt, vinegar and cloves. Cook and stir until clear. Add butter or margarine and beets. Stir until beets are hot. May be made ahead and heated just before serving. Put the beets around the outside of the Spinach Ring Medley just before serving.
