You don't need a big, daring family to be a recipe-inventing success, as Marilou Robinson proves. "My biggest encouragement is my husband Bud--he is not an adventurous eater, preferring meat and potatoes, but will run all over the city to find a particular ingredient. He loves to invite people over to try my new recipes, even though he may not participate!" When guests aren't around to sample Marilou's latest creations, she uses her in-house taster. "Our German Shepherd, Tatoosh, is a great help in working out recipes-there are very few things she won't eat. And if she walks off, I know there is a problem!"
