Onion Rolls

Ingredients

1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 cup lukewarm water
1 package dry yeast
5 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 recipe

Directions:

Dissolve sugar, water, and yeast set aside. Cream together butter, sugar, and salt add egg and beat well. Add yeast mixture mix and knead until smooth and elastic. Let rise until double in bulk. Punch down and roll out on floured board cut with 3-inch round cookie cutter. Place 1 teaspoon of Onion Filling on each circle dampen edges, fold over and press edges together. Put onto greased baking sheet and let rise until doubled. Bake at 400°F for 15 minutes.
