3/4 cup natural wheat bran
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 cup oils
1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
3 tablespoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
GLAZE
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon maple syrup
Mix together milk, natural wheat bran, milk, maple syrup, egg, and oil; set aside. Mix together whole wheat flour, baking powder, salt, and chopped walnuts. Add to liquid mixture, stirring until just moistened. Bake in 12 greased muffin tins at 400°F for 18 to 20 minutes.
Glaze: Combine butter, confectioner's sugar, and maple syrup. Spread on warm muffins.
