2 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup shortening
7/8 cup milk (1 cup less two tablespoons)
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl. Cut in shortening with pastry blender. Add milk all at once and stir with a fork. Knead lightly on floured board. Cut with biscuit cutter and place on baking sheet. Bake at 450°F for 12 to 13 minutes or until lightly browned.
