Apple Turnovers |

Print this Recipe
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup shortening
1 egg yolk + milk to make 2/3 cup
1 cup corn flakes, slightly crushed
6 cups apples, sliced thin
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg white, beaten

Mix flour, sugar, salt, shortening, and yolk mixture all together until smooth. Roll out half the dough. Place dough into 11" x 15" pan. Sprinkle corn flakes on top. Combine apples, sugar and cinnamon; put on top. Roll out remaining dough; put on top. Brush with beaten egg white. Bake at 400°F for 10 minutes; then reduce heat to 375°F and bake for 25 minutes. While warm, drizzle with powdered sugar frosting.
