Ladyfingers are small, oval-shaped cakes usually found in the bakery department or freezer section of the supermarket. If they are not available, you can substitute a 1/2-inch slice of packaged pound cake (from an 8 X 4-inch loaf) for each ladyfinger. You’ll need twelve slices of pound cake to substitute for a 3-ounce package of ladyfingers.
