2 cups milk
2 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca
5 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 egg yolk, slightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 egg whites
Combine milk, tapioca, sugar, and salt; let stand for five minutes. Beat egg yolks and add gradually; bring to a boil over medium heat. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Beat egg whites stiff and fold into hot mixture. Chill.
