Plain Steamed Pudding

Serves: 4

   1 1/2 cups milk
   1 cup brown sugar
   1/2 cup margarine
   1 cup flour
   1 teaspoon cinnamon
   1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
   1 teaspoon baking soda
   1 teaspoon baking powder
   1/2 teaspoon salt
   1 cup bread crumbs
   1 cup raisins
   1/2 cup nuts, chopped


Heat milk, brown sugar, and margarine. Sift flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, soda, baking powder, and salt; add to mixture. Add bread crumbs, raisins, and nuts. Mix well and steam in pan or mold for 2 hours on low heat.
