Old Fashioned Cornstarch Pudding

Ingredients

1/3 cup cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup milk
2 1/2 cups milk, scald
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
fresh, crushed strawberries or any favorite sauce

Directions:

Mix cornstarch, salt, and sugar together. Add milk and mix until smooth. Scald milk in top of double boiler. Add cornstarch mixture and cook until thick. Add butter and vanilla. Pour into molds or custard cups. Chill. Unmold and serve with fresh crushed strawberries or any favorite sauce.
