_ onion medium chopped
_ green bell pepper chopped
_ tablespoons vegetable oil
_ pound ground beef extra-lean
_ 1-pound can tomatoes
_ cups water
_ cups egg noodles uncooked
_ tablespoon chili powder
_ teaspoon salt
___ teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
_ 8-ounce can corn whole kernel corn, drained
_ 4 1/2-ounce can mushrooms drained
___ cup olives sliced pitted, drained
___ cup parmesan cheese grated
In large skillet, sauté onion and green pepper in vegetable oil until tender. Add meat and brown. Drain off excess grease. Add tomatoes, water, noodles, and seasonings; stir to moisten noodles. Cover, bring to boil, and reduce heat. Simmer 30 minutes or until noodles are tender. Stir in corn, mushrooms, and optional olives. Heat thoroughly. Serve sprinkled with Parmesan cheese.
