Prep: 10 min; Bake: About 3 hr 30 min; 1 1/2-pound loaf, 12 slices

Look for 7-grain cereal in the health food aisle or hot cereal section of your supermarket.


   1 1/4 cups water
   2 tablespoons butter or stick margarine, softened*
   1 1/3 cups bread flour
   1 1/3 cups whole wheat flour
   1 cup 7-grain multi-grain cereal, hot, uncooked
   3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
   1 1/4 teaspoons salt
   2 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast


1. Measure carefully, placing all ingredients in bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer.

2. Select Whole Wheat or Basic/White cycle. Use Medium or Light crust color. Remove baked bread from pan to wire rack; cool.

*Spreads with at least 65% vegetable oil can be used.
