Hawaiian Spareribs

Ingredients

4 pounds pork spare ribs, cut into pieces
3/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup vinegar
34/ cups water
3/4 cup pineapple juice
1 can pineapple chunk
2 green peppers cut in pieces

Directions:

Brown spareribs in hot shortening. Combine cornstarch, molasses, and soy sauce to make a paste spread on ribs. Brown again in hot shortening for a few seconds. Combine sugar, vinegar, water, and pineapple juice in saucepan heat until sugar dissolves pour over rips. Cover and cook for 25-30 minutes. Add pineapple chunks and peppers. Cover and simmer five minutes longer
