1 egg white
1 pound turkeys ground raw
1/2 cup water chestnuts chopped
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon ginger root chopped fresh
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 clove garlic minced
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 tablespoons water
2 teaspoons cornstarch
In a medium bowl with a fork, beat egg white until foamy. Add turkey, water chestnuts, soy sauce, gingerroot, cornstarch and garlic. Mix until blended. Shape into six patties, about 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
In a 12-inch non-stick skillet over medium-high heat, brown patties on both sides in oil.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix water and cornstarch until smooth. Pour between patties. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Transfer patties to a warm platter; cover and keep warm. Over medium heat, boil sauce in skillet for 1 to 2 minutes. Pour over patties to serve.
