Sauerkraut and Frankfurters

   1 16-ounce can sauerkraut
   2 apples large Golden Delicious pared, cored, and coarsely chopped
   1/4 cup onions finely chopped
   2 tablespoons margarine
   1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
   4 hot dogs
   4 1-ounce slices swiss cheese natural

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a deep 2-quart baking dish.

Drain and rinse sauerkraut, pressing out liquid; set aside.

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, sauté apples and onion in margarine 3 to 4 minutes until apples are just tender. Add sauerkraut and caraway seeds; stir to combine. Heat through. Spoon into baking dish.

Meanwhile, cook frankfurters according to package directions and drain. Split frankfurters lengthwise. Place on top of sauerkraut. Arrange cheese over top.

Bake 10 minutes or until cheese melts and sauerkraut mixture is bubbly on edges.
