1 egg large
1 pound ground beef
1 slice bread torn in small pieces
1/4 cup onions finely chopped
2 tablespoons capers drained
1 tablespoon dijon style mustard each, catsup and Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Steak sauce (optional)
Preheat broiler. Spray broiler pan and rack with non-stick cooking spray. In a medium bowl, beat egg. Add beef, bread, onion, capers, mustard, catsup, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper and mix well. Shape into four 3-inch patties. Place on broiler rack. Broil 6 inches from heat source for 10 minutes for medium or until desired doneness. (It is not necessary to turn burgers over during cooking.) Serve with steak sauce.
