Tomato Spinach Soup

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef
5 cups water
3 potatoes, peeled and chopped
1 cup cabbage, chopped
1 cup onion, chopped
1 cup celery, chopped
1/3 cup uncooked barley
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried basil, leaves
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 bay leaf
1 large can stewed tomatoes, undrained
1 can sliced beans, undrained
1 package frozen leaf spinach, chopped

Directions:

Cook ground beef until brown drain. Place in large pan add water bring to a boil. Add potatoes, cabbage, onion, celery, barley, salt, basil, thyme, pepper, bay leaf, tomatoes, and beans. Simmer at lower heat for 30 minutes. Add frozen spinach. Cover and simmer another 20 minutes.
