1 medium soup bone
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped carrots
1/3 cup parsley, chopped
1/4 cup onions
1 cup cooked tomatoes
1 tablespoon barley
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
1 egg
1 cup dried bread crumbs
1/3 teaspoon sage
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Combine soup bone, celery, carrots, parsley, onion, tomatoes, barley, and salt; simmer covered for 2-1/2 hours. Remove soup bone. Make dumplings with ground beef, ground pork, egg, dried bead crumbs, sage, salt, and pepper; form into balls and drop into hot soup. Cover and cook one hour longer.
