3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 1/3 cups flour
2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons dry bread crumbs
2 (30-ounce) cans plums, pitted and drained
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon cloves
Beat milk, shortening, sugar, eggs, flour, baking powder and salt in electric mixer. Sprinkle greased baking dish with dry bread crumbs. Pour batter on top. Put plums on top. Dot with butter. Mix sugar and cloves; sprinkle on top. Bake at 350°F for about 40 minutes.
