Nutty Breakfast Cake

Serves: 9

   1/2 pound soft butter or margarine
   1 cup sugar
   2 eggs
   1 teaspoon commercial sour cream
   1 teaspoon vanilla extract
   2 cups flour
   1 teaspoon baking powder
   1 teaspoon baking soda
   Pinch salt
   1/2 cup chopped nuts
   1/4 cup light brown sugar
   1 teaspoon cinnamon


Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Add sour cream and vanilla and mix well. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; add and mix well. Pour half the batter into a tube pan.
Mix together nuts, brown sugar, and cinnamon and sprinkle half on top. Pour remaining batter on top. Sprinkle with remaining mixture. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
