Brown Beef over Pasta

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef
2 bay leaves
1 small carrot, diced
1 teaspoon crushed parsley flakes
1 teaspoon crushed dried chives
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/4 head cabbage, shredded
1 stalk celery, diced
1 small onion, diced
1 (16-ounce) can bean sprouts, drained, cut
2 cups tomato juice, no salt added

Directions:

Brown beef in skillet with bay leaves; wash with hot water, and drain well. Grind herbs in a pestle and mortar. Combine all ingredients in a wide oven-proof dish. Bake in 350° oven until vegetables are tender, about one hour. Serve over cooked pasta.
