Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat remove from heat. Stir in brown sugar until dissolved set aside to cool to room temperature. Blend in egg add flour, baking powder and salt, mixing well. Stir in vanilla and nuts spread into a greased 8" x 8" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes let cool.
